How it works

  • CTC (click-to-conversion rate) is found with "conversions ÷ clicks × 100" and shows, as a percentage, how many of the people who clicked went on to convert (a purchase, sign-up, and so on).
  • For example, 12 conversions from 480 clicks gives a CTC of 12 ÷ 480 × 100 = 2.5%.
  • A higher value means clicks are turning into results more efficiently, making it a useful gauge for judging ad creatives and landing pages.
  • "Clicks per conversion" is clicks ÷ conversions and shows how many clicks, on average, are needed to earn one result. It helps when comparing the efficiency of different campaigns.
  • Because the definition of a conversion (purchase, registration, inquiry, etc.) depends on what you are measuring, only compare figures that use the same criteria.
  • When the measurement period is short or there are few clicks, a small difference can swing the rate a lot, so it is best to wait until you have enough data before drawing conclusions.
