An m-faced die is treated as producing each integer from 1 to m with equal probability. For every roll, n face values are generated and summed.
Random values are generated only when you press the button. The same settings can give different results each time you roll.
The smallest possible total equals the number of dice n, and the largest equals n times the number of faces m. The chart shows how often each total appeared in this range.
The average total is the sum of all rolled totals divided by the number of rolls. The more rolls you make, the closer it gets to the theoretical expected value.
