How it works
- Save percentage is calculated as saves ÷ (saves + goals against). The denominator equals the shots on target the goalkeeper faced.
- Enter saves and goals against and the save percentage is shown as a percentage to one decimal place. For example, 80 saves and 20 goals means 100 shots faced and an 80.0% save percentage.
- If you enter the number of matches, the goals conceded per match (to two decimal places) is also shown, calculated as goals against divided by matches. Leave it blank to skip this calculation.
- Because the count of shots faced (saves + goals) can vary by how shots are recorded, it is best to compare figures gathered under the same method.
- Save percentage is one indicator of a goalkeeper's form and the team's defensive situation. Considering match count and opponent quality alongside it gives a more accurate picture.
