How it works
- Enter the year, month, and day of the Iranian calendar (Persian / Solar Hijri) and the tool shows the matching Gregorian date along with the day of the week.
- Months range from Farvardin (month 1) to Esfand (month 12), chosen from the 12 Persian month names. The first six months have 31 days each, the next five have 30 days, and the final month Esfand has 29 days in a common year and 30 days in a leap year.
- Conversion is performed through the Julian Day Number (JDN), so dates that cross differences in month length or leap years are still converted accurately.
- The Iranian New Year (Nowruz) coincides with the spring equinox and generally begins around March 20–21 in the Gregorian calendar.
- Leap years are determined with an arithmetic algorithm based on a 33-year cycle. Because the actual Iranian calendar fixes the equinox by astronomical observation, a small number of years may differ from the official date by one day.
- Along with the Gregorian year, month, day, and weekday, the result also shows the leap-year status and the Julian Day Number, making it useful for cross-checking against other calendars.
