How it works

  • Assumes a one-time investment compounded annually at the expected return, so the final balance equals principal × (1 + annual return) ^ years. This is a lump-sum (spot) model with no monthly contributions.
  • In NISA, investment gains are tax-free, so the final balance is your full payout. For comparison, the normally taxed account applies 20.315% (15% income tax, 0.315% special reconstruction tax, 5% resident tax) to the gain, and the difference is shown as the tax-free benefit.
  • Limit warnings use the growth quota cap of 2.4 million yen per year and the 18 million yen lifetime tax-free holding limit (of which the growth quota is up to 12 million yen). A warning appears when your principal exceeds these caps.
  • A rough estimate based on representative figures of the new NISA system that started in 2024. Actual results vary with the market and may fall below the principal. Fees, distributions, and exchange rates are not considered.
  • This tool is an estimate, not investment advice. Confirm exact rules, tax amounts, and limit management with your financial institution or official sources.
