Pet Age to Human Years
Just enter your dog's or cat's age to instantly see how old they are in human years. It accounts for how small, medium, and large dogs age differently, and shows the life stage plus a handy age-conversion chart.
Input
Convert your dog's or cat's age into human years. Dogs age at different rates depending on size (small, medium, large). Because aging varies even within the same type, treat the result as a rough guide only.

How it works
- Pick the animal type (small, medium, or large dog, or a cat) and enter the actual age in years and months to see the equivalent human age.
- For dogs, the first year counts as roughly 15 human years and the second year as roughly 24, with each later year adding more. Large dogs age faster, so they gain more human years per year.
- For cats, the first year counts as roughly 24 human years, with each later year adding about 4 more.
- Along with the result, you get an estimated life stage (puppy/kitten, young, adult, senior, geriatric) and a chart of common ages.
- Aging varies widely even within the same type and size, so the human age shown is only a guide. For any concerns about your pet's health, consult your veterinarian.
