How it works
- Exposure dose is a quantity that expresses the amount of ionization (electric charge produced) that X-rays or gamma rays create in air, with the base unit being coulombs per kilogram (C/kg).

- The roentgen (R) is a traditional unit, converted accurately using the defined value 1 R = 2.58×10⁻⁴ C/kg.
- The milliroentgen (mR) is one-thousandth of a roentgen, and the microcoulomb per kilogram (µC/kg) is one-millionth of a C/kg.
