Torque, Speed and Power Calculator
Enter any two of torque, rotational speed and power to find the third, with angular velocity plus kW and PS conversions.
Input
Calculate the relationship between torque, rotational speed and power. Pick the quantity to solve for, then enter the other two.
Quantity to solve for
Power P = torque T times angular velocity omega, with omega = 2 pi times N divided by 60.

P = T times omega and omega = 2 pi times N divided by 60. Torque is in N·m, angular velocity in rad/s and power in W, then converted to kW and PS (1 PS = 735.49875 W).
How it works
- Mechanical power P equals torque T times angular velocity omega: P = T times omega.
- Angular velocity omega comes from the speed in rev per second n_s as omega = 2 pi times n_s, or from rev per minute N as omega = 2 pi times N divided by 60.
- Enter any two of the three quantities (torque, speed, power) and the remaining one is solved.
- Quantities use SI base units: torque in N·m, angular velocity in rad/s and power in W.
- Power is also shown in kW (1 kW = 1000 W) and PS (metric horsepower, 1 PS = 735.49875 W).
- Real machines lose energy to friction and efficiency, so the values are theoretical estimates.
