How it works
- BMI is calculated as weight (kg) ÷ height (m)², and the ideal (standard) weight as 22 × height (m)² (BMI 22 is considered the value least associated with illness).
- From your current weight, target weight, and monthly pace, the time to reach your goal is found as (current weight − target weight) ÷ monthly change.
- The weight at each month and the BMI at that point are calculated and shown as a horizontal bar chart and a table.
- Categories follow the Japan Society for the Study of Obesity standard (under 18.5 = underweight, 18.5 to under 25 = normal, 25 and over = obese).
- Rapid weight loss can harm your health. In general, monthly weight loss within 5% of your current weight is recommended.
- This tool provides rough estimates based on general formulas and is not a diagnosis or medical advice. Always consult a doctor for health decisions.
