Gymnastics Calorie Calculator
Just pick your weight, duration, and exercise intensity to instantly estimate the calories burned during gymnastics (light home exercise, radio calisthenics, or vigorous routines) with the METs formula. Also see the equivalent in bowls of rice and grams of body fat.
Input
Estimates calories burned during gymnastics/calisthenics using "METs × weight (kg) × time × 1.05". METs is a guide to exercise intensity, so the same routine can vary with tempo and how big your movements are.

How it works
- Calories burned during gymnastics are estimated with the simplified formula "METs × weight (kg) × duration (hours) × 1.05", a widely used rule of thumb.
- METs (metabolic equivalents) measure exercise intensity relative to rest (1 MET). This tool uses representative values of 3.5 for light home exercise, 4.0 for radio calisthenics, and 5.5 for vigorous exercise, and the calories change with the intensity you select.
- The METs values are guides based on representative figures such as those in the Compendium of Physical Activities and Japan's National Institute of Health and Nutrition METs table. The actual intensity of the same routine can vary with the size and tempo of your movements.
- This formula gives total energy expenditure including resting metabolism. To see the net burn excluding the resting portion you can use (METs − 1), but this tool uses the common simplified formula.
- For reference, one bowl of rice is treated as about 234 kcal and 1 g of body fat as about 7.2 kcal. These conversions are rough estimates only.
- The displayed figures are estimates. Actual calories burned vary with individual differences such as age, sex, body composition, and condition, as well as measurement circumstances.
