Target weight by standard
| Type | BMI | Weight |
|---|---|---|
Ideal weight (standard weight) The benchmark the Japan Society for the Study of Obesity considers least prone to illness (BMI 22) | 22 | 56.3 kg |
Beauty weight A benchmark seen as giving a slim, trim appearance (BMI 20) | 20 | 51.2 kg |

A BMI below 18.5 is considered underweight. Cinderella weight and model weight often fall into the underweight range, so we recommend setting a realistic goal that protects your health.
How it works
- Target weights are derived backward from BMI (body mass index). The formula is "target weight (kg) = BMI × height (m) × height (m)". For a height of 160 cm, BMI 22 is about 56.3 kg and BMI 20 is about 51.2 kg.
- This tool uses these BMI standards: ideal weight (standard weight) = BMI 22, beauty weight = BMI 20, Cinderella weight = BMI 18, model weight = BMI 17. BMI 22 for ideal weight is the value the Japan Society for the Study of Obesity statistically considers least prone to illness.
- When you enter your current weight, it computes your current BMI with BMI = weight (kg) ÷ height (m) ÷ height (m) and lists the difference (how many kg to go) to each target weight.
- Under the Japan Society for the Study of Obesity criteria, a BMI below 18.5 is classified as underweight. Beauty, Cinderella and model weights often fall into the underweight range, so set a realistic goal that does not harm your health.
- Results are general estimates derived only from height and BMI. They do not reflect body composition such as muscle mass, body fat percentage or frame, nor age or constitution, so they do not necessarily match your appearance or health.
- This tool gives an estimate based on a common formula and is not a diagnosis or medical advice. Always consult a doctor for health decisions.
