How it works
- Calories (kcal) are calculated with the formula "METs x weight (kg) x exercise time (hours) x 1.05". Time is entered in minutes and converted to hours internally.
- Intensity is chosen from representative MET values for softball. As a guide, a typical game or practice is 5.0 METs and pitching is 6.0 METs.
- The MET values are guides based on representative figures from the National Institute of Health and Nutrition's METs table for physical activity; actual values vary with how you play and how hard you exercise.
- For the reference conversions, one bowl of rice is treated as about 234 kcal and 1 g of body fat as about 7.2 kcal. These conversions are rough illustrations only.
- Calories burned vary widely with build, body composition, exercise quality and environment. The displayed value is an estimate, not a medically or nutritionally precise figure.
- When using this for diet or health management, play within your limits and consult a professional if you have any health concerns.
