How it works

  • In "cost ratio" mode, the total is allocated by 'men's ratio x number of men + women's ratio x number of women', then the per-person amount for each gender is calculated. For example, with men 1.5 : women 1.0, each man pays 1.5 times what each woman pays.
  • In "fixed amount per man" mode, the amount each man pays is set first, then the remaining amount is divided equally among the women to get the per-woman amount. Useful when you want to set directly how much more the men contribute.
  • Rounding can be set to round up, to the nearest, or down, and the rounding unit can be 100, 500, 1000, or 1. This lets you adjust to clean, easy-to-collect amounts.
  • Because the per-person amount for each gender is rounded to the chosen unit, the amount collected may differ from the entered total. The difference is shown as a 'surplus' or 'shortfall' to guide the organizer's adjustment.
  • The calculation works even if the number of men or women is 0 (at least 1 person total is required). The breakdown table shows the count, per-person amount and subtotal for each gender plus the grand total.
  • Note: the amounts shown are estimates only. The actual amount collected may need adjusting for rounding or the circumstances of participants.
