Volleyball Calorie Calculator
Estimate the calories you burn playing volleyball just by entering your weight, play time, and intensity (recreational / general / competitive). Also shows handy rice-bowl and body-fat equivalents.
Input
Estimate the calories you burn playing volleyball from your body weight, play time, and intensity (recreational / general / competitive). METs are representative values, so treat the result as a rough guide.

How it works
- Calories are estimated with the common simplified formula METs x body weight (kg) x exercise time (hours) x 1.05. It is a rough guide that includes resting metabolism.
- METs (metabolic equivalents) express exercise intensity as a multiple of the resting rate. Because volleyball intensity varies with how you play, you can choose recreational 3.0, general (club / circle) 4.0, or competitive (matches and hard practice) 8.0.
- The METs values are guides based on representative figures such as those in the Compendium of Physical Activities (revised). Actual calories burned vary widely with build, position, rally intensity, and rest breaks.
- As a reference, results also show how many bowls of rice (about 234 kcal each) and how many grams of body fat (about 7.2 kcal per gram) the calories equal. These conversions are only rough guides.
- Calories burned playing volleyball do not translate directly into the same amount of fat loss. Real weight loss depends on the overall balance of calories consumed and burned, including diet.
- The figures shown are reference values for health management. If you have health concerns or a chronic condition, or are greatly increasing your activity, consult a doctor or specialist.
